It is now 43 pages instead of 19 pages long because I added a big section on classical spectral curves as introduced by Hitchin. Conversations with Hannah Larson and Sameera Vemulapalli (see their preprint https://arxiv.org/abs/2408.12678 ) helped me realized that the key technical player in the background is the restricted Hitchin map.
